Tent Stitch...Half Cross stitch...who Bloody Cares Stitch!!

Hello Bloggy-verse, I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
I don't know if its just me but the weather seems a little warmer and I saw loads of snowdrops as I was on my way home earlier today...could spring be finally on its way?

Anyways onwards and upwards...
As I mentioned in my last post I was going to talk about tapestry in my next post...so here goes.
When I was about 12 my gran gave me a part done tapestry that she hadn't bothered to finish and I muddled through it myself and think I made an alright job of it.
Anyways I've always fancied doing another tapestry but never got around to it until I ordered a tapestry cushion cover a few weeks ago...
Its loads bigger than I expected and..eeek there are so many colour changes and similar colours, but I'm off to a relatively good start I think.

As I'm having to concentrate a lot more than i would do if I were crocheting I have developed the skill of listening to the television rather than watching it...I can now sit through an entire episode of 'Emmerdale' without glancing at the screen once and still know who said what to who!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Em xxxxxxx

I love the colors!!!
isn't it funny how even though you need to concentrate you still need noise in the background? when I'm sewing in the dining room I have to have the TV on somewhere...

Ooh...pretty. I once (I say once because I will NEVER again) crossed stiched a photograph of my parents wedding as a gift for their 50th anniversary. Their photo was in black and white, hence the cross stitching was all black, white and shades of gray.

Ooohh this is going to be amazing when it's done! I fanced a one of these kits I saw in hobbycraft but they were soooo expensive! I'm the same, forever knitting or sewing whilst 'watching' TV, hubby gets annoyed as I'm never actually watching it.

The colors are just what we need to have a glimpse of hope for a bright spring. I too look forward to seeing it complete.

I definitely recognise the 'Emmerdale' comment as I tend to listen to a lot of television too, usually crocheting. If I actually want to watch it - now there's a modern concept for you! - I tend to be knitting, something fairly straightforward, not fair isle, which I have recently had a resurgence of interest in.
Love the tapestry... I started with very simply huge cross stitch things at school, then progressed to kits, then to designing my own. I now have two kits on the go.... ho hum.

There is no way I could be patient enough to do that - I really admire you for getting on with it (Ps the listening thing is why I love radio and podcasts!) Em xx
